I know I’ve been MIA during the holidays and not posted anything recently. Like you, I’ve been enjoying family time! I’ve also been busily developing some new products and a new “mini session” package for those clients that want professional boutique portraiture at a smaller investment. More on that later. For now, here’s a peek at the new 3×3 Accordion Mini book. This little book is the perfect size to carry in a purse or pocket to show off your favorite images to family and friends. I also have a wallet size which I’ll be posting a sample of next.

I just ran across this post on Craig’s List while looking for good deals on anything having to do with photography. I had to chuckle ’cause I’ve been in this situation a time or two….. so I thought I’d share.

I’m a photographer, and I am always asked to do a free, or next-to-nothing-with-everything-included session. I figure, if you can ask me to do this, then it’s only fair I ask you to, too.
So here is what I need:
A maid to clean my entire house from top to bottom, scrub the toilets, and get those darn cobwebs out of the corners of my ceiling!
A nanny to watch my 2 children, while I work my FULL-TIME job, and then come home and work on my Photography (including but not limited to shooting a session, editing photos, making marketing materials, etc)
A chef, to cook for me and my family, please bring your own cookware, as I don’t want you to dirty ours.
A mechanic to fix/maintenance my vehicles.
An accountant to pay all my bills, and make sure my taxes/insurance claims/registration and licensing is done properly, and on time.
A lawyer to type up all of my contracts for me.
If you can offer any of the above, for little-to-no cost, or any other service, please feel free to email me with your information, so I can use your services.
Oh, you probably won’t get any referrals out of me, either.
Thanks for your time!

This beautiful young lady is Pooja. She chose to do her Senior Portrait Session in beautiful Boulder so we could get a variety of scenic nature shots as well as in an urban setting. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect with a crystal blue sky and perfect lighting.
Pooja is a very sweet and lovely young woman, both inside and out. She was a little timid about being in front of the camera at first but after just a few shots, she took to it like a duck to water! Just look at these sneak peek shots. The camera loves her!! She has such a wonderful presence about her and when I was editing her images, I just got lost in her serenity.
Afterward, I spent a couple of hours at her parent’s restaurant in Boulder right off of I36 called the Taj Indian Cuisine. It was my first experience with Indian food and Pooja and her Mom, Kamala, hooked me up! It was all so delicious and Kamala’s recipes are out of this world. If you’re ever in the area, you should check out the Taj.

Here’s a sneak peek at Jordan’s senior portraits. He’s a no-nonsense kind of guy and hockey athlete from Broomfield HS. His mom told me he wasn’t too keen on having to have his portraits taken, but did it because he “had to”. Even so, we had a great time. He was a natural in front of the camera and took posing direction very easily. I’m pretty sure he actually ended up enjoying himself too.
Jordan wanted a few photos taken on the ice (without all of his gear), so we did his location shoot at the Ice Center at the Promenade in Westminster and outside on the beautiful open space around the neighboring Westin Hotel. Enjoy!!

This beautiful young lady is Ashuka. She’s a senior at Peak to Peak in the BVSD and has very high aspirations for college and career. She wanted a variety of scenic, urban, and sports images to remember her senior year, so we spent the entire morning shooting in and around Broomfield and Boulder. There were so many fabulous pictures of her that it was hard for me to pick just a few of my favorites to post for a sneak peak! Enjoy!

Wow! Can you say BUSY! I’ve been shooting ’til my finger is numb with barely enough time to do my editing. Still, when the opportunity came yesterday to go to Estes Park with my friend Michelle for the “bugling of the elk”, I couldn’t resist.
For those of you who don’t know, this time of year is elk mating season and the males fight each other for the right to mate with the females. It’s called “bugling” because that is the sound the female makes to call the males.
Having recently moved to Colorado from Texas, I was awed by the mountain scenery. The trees at that elevation have changed colors much more than in the city and the crystal blue sky with a few scattered puffy white clouds was the perfect backdrop to contrast with the magnificent mountain scenery.
I didn’t get to see any elk bulls fighting, however I did come across one bull with his harem resting contentedly under the thick branches of a grove of trees. He looked “plum tuckered out” if you ask me, but he did manage to raise his head once to check out his surroundings before going back to sleep.
I also came across another lone bull busily chomping grass. Since he didn’t have a harem and there were no other elk around, I can only guess that he was the looser in recent battles. None the less, he was magnificent with at least 10 points on his antlers.
Here are just a few of the images I snapped. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them!
